Trent Barton is making further reductions to the services on its routes from Sunday [March 29 2020] due to the coronavirus pandemic.
After initial changes last Sunday and following the Government’s ‘stay at home’ advice, the bus operator has seen a further sustained fall in the number of customers travelling on all its services.
To ensure it can continue to operate for as long as the pandemic lasts, trentbarton will continue to review its routes.
The new timetable continues to focus resources on providing vital services to maintain the most important travel links. Some routes will no longer run Monday to Saturday and others will see reduced frequencies.
Jeff Counsell, managing director at trentbarton, said: “We have witnessed a further dramatic reduction in the level of demand for travel as most people heed the Government’s plea to stay at home.
“Our timetable changes are necessary both commercially and practically. We need to ensure we use what resources we have where the need is greatest. I would like to again praise our staff and thank our customers for their understanding and support.”
This weekend’s timetable changes and any future ones will be announced online at trentbarton.co.uk/coronavirus and via trentbarton’s social media channels.
