West Bridgford’s CHEFF teams up with Lady Bay local to deliver meals to NHS frontline

80 meals were delivered to Nottingham University Hospitals (NUH) today where they were distributed to A Floor Critical Care and wards F18 and F22.

Lady Bay local, Laura Swaithes, a physiotherapist, worked at NUH for nearly 15 years. Now working at Keele University her current project is focusing on supporting the wellbeing of people over 70 with long term health conditions who are self-isolating and also looking at the capacity of NHS services in the aftermath of coronavirus.

Even though her work is geared towards supporting the NHS and its patients in these challenging times, she wanted to do more to help healthcare professional colleagues working locally on the frontline.

Laura approached Adam Sinnott, Director of healthy takeaway CHEFF (Clean Healthy Energising Fresh Food) in Lady Bay to order some nutritious meals for hospital staff who would be working long hours and unlikely to take a break.

Around the same time, Adam had teamed up with The Body Project who were looking to support vulnerable people in Nottingham via the following go fund me page https://www.gofundme.com/f/feeding-nottingham.

Thanks to the many donations made, this project has also been used to support staff at NUH.

Laura and Adam would love to be able to support NUH on a weekly basis (to include the City Hospital Campus too and those working night shifts) but need members of the public to donate to the gofundme link above.

“We would like express our gratitude and say a HUGE thank you to all our NHS superhero workers at NUH, from everyone at CHEFF and the lady Bay Community”
