A woman has been charged in connection with a report that an elderly couple were allegedly threatened and assaulted while walking their dogs at Balderton Lakes.
Susan Chen, 57, of Rowan Way, Balderton, was arrested on Wednesday (22 April 2020) and subsequently charged with three counts of battery and one count of using threatening or abusive behaviour.
She has been bailed to appear at Nottingham Magistrates’ Court on 9 June 2020, with her bail including a condition not to go to Balderton Lakes.
The charges relate to a report that a couple were walking their dogs at the lakes, on 20 April 2020, when they were subjected to verbal abuse and threats from a woman.
It’s alleged that the following day, as the couple were again walking their dogs, the same woman came over to them and then spat in their direction and threw twigs at them.
It’s further alleged that the next day, after spotting the couple on their walk, the woman came running over with a pole and hit them both with it, causing minor injuries, while also hitting another woman in the leg, resulting in bruising.
