Police discover drugs den in a Nottingham home

A sighting on patrol of a suspected drug deal led officers to a home containing large amounts of suspected heroin and cocaine.

The knife crime team was in St Ann’s around 11.35am on Wednesday (29 April) when officers observed two suspected drug users loitering near an alleyway.

When the pair were spotted interacting with a man riding an e-scooter officers believed a transaction had taken place and followed the scooter rider.

He was detained in Ransom Road and officers found a quantity of cash when they searched him.

Investigations led to the search of a property in Blundell Close where officers found a block and individual wraps of suspected Class A drugs.

There was also further cash and multiple mobile phones. A man found inside the address was arrested.

Two men, aged 19 and 20, have been arrested on suspicion of possession with intent to supply a Class A drug.

The 19-year-old has also been detained on suspicion of being concerned in drug supply.

Police Constable Daniel Cresswell, of the knife crime team, said:

“We know street dealers will leave properties with small quantities of drugs, sell them and then return to collect more.

“So when we stop a suspected drug dealer we will always look to search properties connected with them.

“In this case, our instincts were proved correct with the recovery of large amounts of harmful Class A drugs from the property.”
