Police make two arrests after armed masked man burgles woman’s Nottingham home

The woman and two children were then threatened by a man holding what is believed to be a firearm, before he stole her belongings and left the house.

Police have made two arrests after a woman’s house was burgled by a masked man.

A safe and the money inside was taken from a house after the woman was disturbed in the middle of the night.

The woman and two children were then threatened by a man holding what is believed to be a firearm, before he stole her belongings and left the house.

Officers were called to Magnus Road in Sherwood following the report of the burglary at around 4.30am on Saturday 26 September.

Detective Sergeant Simon Carter is leading the investigation. He said: “I can’t imagine how scary this incident must have been for the family and we’ve been working tirelessly to try and get to the bottom of what happened.

“Burglary is an incredibly upsetting crime, even more so when there is a weapon involved. It’s something which we are committed to tackling so we can find those who commit burglaries and prevent more people from becoming victims in the future.”

A 19-year-old man and an 18-year-old man have been arrested on suspicion of aggravated burglary following the incident.
