A 26-year old woman will stand trial charged with murder following the death of a 19-month old girl in Mansfield.
The charge comes after Nottinghamshire Police was called at around 6.30am on Friday 6 March to a report of concerns for the welfare of the one-year-old at a house in Wharmby Avenue.
The girl was taken to hospital for treatment before being pronounced dead a short time later.
Katie Crowder, 26, of Wharmby Avenue, Mansfield, was arrested following the incident.
She was previously charged with neglect and causing or allowing the death of a child, but will now stand trial for murder after the indictment was changed at a hearing at Nottingham Crown Court on Monday 6 April.
Crowder remains in custody and her trial will start at Nottingham Crown Court tomorrow (17 November).
