A much-loved walking route in Gotham has been repaired thanks to funding from Davidsons Homes.
The housebuilder has contributed towards essential fencing works along The Logan Trail, a popular route, used regularly by walkers, runners and families around the village.
The improvements will help ensure the path remains safe and accessible, protecting an important countryside route that forms part of everyday life in Gotham.
Stephanie King, Sales Director at Davidsons Homes East, said: “Outdoor spaces like The Logan Trail are hugely valued by local residents, whether it’s for a daily dog walk or a weekend family stroll.
“We’re pleased to support works that help maintain these important village routes. At Davidsons, we believe building new homes should go hand in hand with investing in the wider community.”
Supporting and protecting green spaces forms an important part of Davidsons Homes’ approach to development. At Blackberry Gardens in Gotham, landscaped areas and open spaces have been carefully incorporated into the design to encourage outdoor activity and encourage residents and local people to spend time outdoors.
Kevin Thorpe, Chairman of the Gotham Countryside Trust, said “The Logan Trail is now a well -established and much-used path along what was formerly the railway branch line serving the village and the Gypsum industry.
“The ever-popular trail came into being and is maintained through the efforts of a small group of volunteers, who formed a Charity Trust following a generous gift from former Gotham resident, David Logan. Gotham Countryside Trust is grateful to Davidsons Homes for funding recent fencing work undertaken on the Trail.”
Davidsons Homes is currently building at Blackberry Gardens in Gotham, a development of two, three, four and five-bedroom homes off Leake Road. Located within the village and close to local amenities and green spaces, Blackberry Gardens has been designed to reflect Gotham’s character while creating a strong sense of community.
