Police say a pyrotechnic was initiated in Friar Lane.
Police said:
‘Please be aware we have a heightened police presence in Nottingham city centre today ( Saturday 14 October )
‘This is to ensure a safe matchday for supporters attending today’s Notts County v Mansfield fixture.
‘A pyrotechnic was set off in Friar Lane at around 10.30am.

‘This activated a fire alarm at a local business and resulted in emergency services attending.
‘No injuries were reported and the incident was brought to a safe conclusion.’
