Staff and students at Rushcliffe Spencer Academy are celebrating an exceptional set of GCSE results.
The Academy has consistently maintained a strong track record for excellence, achieving the best results in the county in recent years, and the hard work and dedication of the whole community has once again contributed to some incredible outcomes this year.
Over 85% of all students achieved a standard pass (Grade 4) in English and maths, with close to three quarters of students successfully achieving a strong pass (Grade 5).

The Academy is also delighted that almost 30% of students achieved Grades 7 and above in maths and English; an incredible achievement that the academy can rightly celebrate as a further improvement on recent years.

While the Academy is proud of every student’s personal achievement and journey, particular congratulations are due to Sam Brewington, Liam Brown, Imogen Colvin, Sophie Forster, William Swann and Eyad Takyeldin, who all achieved a very impressive 7 or more Grade 9s.

Within this group, Imogen and William deserve an extra special mention for being able to meet the incredible milestone of achieving a Grade 9 in every subject.

On receiving his results, William said “It’s been great to study at Rushcliffe for these last five years. The school has really helped me to perform to my best and achieve these results.”
Sam Brewington agreed, adding “I think the school have been really supportive and helped me prepare. I’m really proud of myself for my hard work in school.”

Head of School, Sarah Sismey said “We are very proud of this cohort of students. They joined us in the midst of Covid and have shown an exceptional amount of resilience in their secondary years.
“They have worked so hard for these outcomes, which are richly deserved. The support they have shown for each other this year has been incredible, and we can’t wait to welcome them into our Sixth Form, or to hear about their next adventures.”

Executive Principal, Graeme Smith added: “Rushcliffe Spencer Academy is a very special place, and it’s great to celebrate with students and their families today. These GCSE outcomes build on last week’s record-breaking A Level results.
“We could not be prouder of our young people. We would like to recognise our incredible staff, as well as the parents and carers, without whom these celebrations would not be possible.”
