Two stolen motorbikes were recovered by officers after a member of the public reported them being ridden dangerously in a park.
Officers were called to Eskdale Road Park, Beeston, at 6.40pm on Tuesday after the bikes were spotted.
The riders made off and soon abandoned the bikes in nearby Dovecote Lane.
The motorcycles, recently stolen from Derbyshire, were recovered and investigations are ongoing.
PC Dean Bardill said:
“We responded to reports of reckless and dangerous riding and arrived at the park in order to protect the public.
“Unfortunately it came as no surprise to me that people who would behave in this way – endangering children and other members of the public – would be riding stolen bikes as well.
“These machines have now been seized and investigations are underway to track down the people who took them.”
Anyone with additional information is asked to call 101 quoting incident 606 of 23 September 2025.
