Detectives investigating a serious assault outside a rave in Nottingham have placed a suspect before the courts.
Emergency services were called to The Nest, in Iremonger Road, at 12.30am on Monday (31 August) following reports a man had been attacked outside the venue.
The victim, aged in his 40s, was knocked unconscious after being punched once to the head. He remains in hospital in a critical but stable condition.
A team of detectives has carried out extensive CCTV and other inquiries.
As a result of these investigations, officers arrested a suspect on Wednesday (2 September) and also seized a quantity of MDMA during searches.
Twenty-year-old Preston Busby has been charged with committing grievous bodily harm without intent and possession of a Class A drug.
Busby, of Kensington Gardens, Ilkeston, Derbyshire, appeared at Nottingham Magistrates’ Court on Friday (4 September) and will next appear at Nottingham Crown Court on 2 October 2026.
