Police searching for a missing man have recovered a body.
Officers have been searching for 36-year-old Jamie Poole after he was reported missing from the Newark area on 28 October.
Sadly, a body was found in the River Trent near Newark shortly after 10.30am on Sunday (9 November).
Whilst formal identification has yet to take place, Jamie’s family have been informed of the development.
Detective Sergeant Andrea Brown, of Nottinghamshire Police, said:
“This is a very tragic development and we are supporting Jamie’s family at this difficult time.
“The circumstances are still being investigated but at this time we are not treating the death as suspicious.
“We would like to thank everyone who shared our appeals since Jamie was reported missing.
“A file will be prepared for the coroner as our investigations continue.”
