A man armed himself with a broken bottle before using it as a weapon to slash someone’s face.
Abubakarr Haruna left his victim with a nasty facial wound after attacking him in Nottingham city centre.
The 39-year-old was pictured on CCTV arguing with the other man – around 15 minutes or so before the assault.
While his victim walked away following the dispute, Haruna was seen to follow him, before rummaging through a nearby bin.
Having grabbed two glass bottles from the bin, Haruna smashed one of them, before darting towards the unsuspecting man.
After catching up with him in Wheeler Gate, he suddenly used the improvised weapon to slash his victim across the side of the face.

The single strike caused a nasty gash across the man’s nose and cheek that later required surgery and left him with a visible scar.
Haruna meanwhile walked away in the opposite direction, having inflicted the blow with the bottle, around 1.45am on 11 August this year.
Police were later able to identify him as the early-morning attacker after one of the officers reviewing the footage recognised his face.
Having admitted to his actions in his initial interview, Haruna was charged with causing grievous bodily harm with intent and possessing an offensive weapon in public.
He would go on to repeat his guilt on 17 September, when he admitted to committing both offences at Nottingham Crown Court.
Haruna, of no fixed address, returned to the court on Wednesday (12 November), where he was issued with an extended custodial sentence of 10 years and eight months.
He was sentenced to six years and eight months in prison and will then spend the remaining four years of his sentence on licence after that.
Detective Sergeant Nigel Malik, of Nottinghamshire Police, said:
“It should be left in no doubt whatsoever that Abubakarr Haruna meant to seriously hurt his victim during this horrible attack.
“Having argued with the same man minutes earlier, he decided to go away and arm himself with two glass bottles before returning with them to track him down.

“He then turned one of the bottles into a potentially deadly weapon by smashing it, before darting towards the unsuspecting man when he spotted him again.
“Not content with merely trying to frighten his victim, he made the inexplicable decision to slash him across the face with the jagged edge before fleeing from the scene.
“His actions were both incredibly dangerous and cowardly, with the assault leaving the other man with a nasty gash across his face that required surgical treatment.
“We’re pleased to see him receive such a strong custodial sentence, which we hope will provide the victim with some small degree of comfort as he continues to recover.”
