Detectives investigating after a man was attacked with a broken glass bottle have placed a suspect before the courts.
The victim, a man aged in his 40s, was assaulted outside his home in Farnborough Road, Clifton, around 11pm on Sunday (25 January).
He required hospital treatment for cuts to his face and further injuries to his head, arms and hands.
Officers arrested a suspect a short time later and detectives carried out an investigation into what had happened.
Paul Tomlinson, aged 39, of no fixed abode, has been charged with committing grievous bodily harm with intent.
He appeared at Nottingham Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday (27 January) and was remanded in custody until his next appearance at Nottingham Crown Court on 24 February 2026.
Detective Constable Charlotte Read, of Nottinghamshire Police, said:
“This was a nasty assault and left the victim with serious injuries which could have been much worse.
“The incident may have caused concern in the community but we believe it was an isolated incident involving people known to each other.”
