A suspect in a Nottingham pharmacy burglary has been charged and appeared before the courts.
An investigation has been underway since the Old Basford-based break-in last November.
A variety of controlled drugs, NHS prescriptions and cash were all taken from the store in Bailey Street.
The owners of the pharmacy discovered a window had been damaged to gain entry to the property.
The break-in is believed to have taken place around 11pm on 25 November last year.
Inquiries have been ongoing since then, with officers managing to identify and detain a suspect last week.
Steven Walker, 45, was charged with burglary soon after – appearing at Nottingham Magistrates’ Court on Wednesday (28 January).
Walker, of Holbrook Court, Clifton, has been released on bail ahead of his next appearance at Nottingham Crown Court on 14 April.
Inspector Gordon Fenwick, of Nottinghamshire Police, said:
“Break-ins can cause a great deal of stress and anxiety to business owners, as unfortunately happened in this case.
“We’re pleased to see a charge has been made in connection with this investigation, which we hope provides some reassurance to residents.”
