A pub on the side of the canal in Nottingham will be turned into a café and co-working space.
The Waterfront, in Castle Wharf, was first built in 1998 as a bar and restaurant, but it closed in 2023.
In November 2024, the building was put on the market by its owner, the Canal and River Trust, for £600,000.
Estate agent FHP suggested it could be turned into offices, apartments, student accommodation, an Airbnb, or reverted back to a bar and restaurant.

The new buyer, which appears to be a company called The Cowork Club, has now had its plans for a co-working space approved by Nottingham City Council.
The plans state: “The proposed development takes the form of a change of use and renovation of The Waterfront to create a hot-desking and work hub with offices and a café.
“The building has already been largely stripped back to shell, and the majority of the proposed works are contained internally.”
Alongside the pub, a number of other buildings in the Castle Wharf area have been undergoing refurbishment and transformation.
In September 2022, plans to convert the British Waterways building into apartments were approved.
The iconic building is being transformed into 95 one- and two-bed apartments and studios, and a rooftop extension is being built to provide eight apartments.
It was previously home to Wetherspoons, a gym, and the Glee Comedy Club.
The Waterfront had been operated by pub chain Marston’s, but the brewer chose to hand it back to its leaseholder, resulting in its eventual closure.
