Several Nottingham City Transport services are facing diversions, delays and stop closures because of roadworks and other disruption across Nottingham and Nottinghamshire.
Blue 39 is continuing to divert because of emergency works on Thorneywood Mount, which began at 8am on Wednesday 29 April. The road had been expected to reopen at 3pm, but remained closed. Buses towards Carlton Valley are running as normal along Beacon Hill Rise, then turning right onto St Matthias Road, left onto Carlton Road and left onto Porchester Road before returning to the normal route. Buses towards the city are running as normal along Porchester Road, then continuing on Porchester Road at the Thorneywood junction before turning right onto Carlton Road and right onto St Matthias Road to rejoin Beacon Hill Rise. Stops on the diversion route are being served, but stops including Ridgway Street, Dowson Street, Edginton Street, Thirlmere Close, Wheatfields Road and Thorneywood Mount Top are affected.
South Notts 1 is diverting in East Leake because of roadworks. Buses towards Loughborough are running as normal to East Leake Shops before diverting via Main Street, Castle Hill and Loughborough Road, resuming the normal route from the Rempstone Road junction. Buses towards Nottingham are running as normal to Loughborough Road and Rempstone Road, then continuing along Loughborough Road and Castle Hill before turning left onto Main Street and right onto Gotham Road. Stops affected include School Green, Woodgate Road, Kirk Ley Road Top, Elizabeth Drive and Rempstone Road.
Pink 30 is also diverting because of roadworks in Bramcote, where buses are unable to pass through safely. Services cannot serve stops on Rivergreen, Deddington Lane, Eastcote or Grangewood Road, and are instead using Kevin Road, Humberston Road and Wollaton Vale in both directions.
The Poulton Drive stop on Daleside Road, used by Red 45 towards the city, is closed because of roadworks. On Queens Drive, the Castle Bridge Road stop used by Navy 49, 49A, 49B and 49X towards the Park & Ride and Boots site is also closed because of roadworks.
Green 7 is being delayed by roadworks on Melton Road near Valley Road. The Valley Road stop towards the city is closed while the works are taking place.
At Newark Bus Station, Pathfinder 90 is using Bay E instead of Bay A because of an issue with the doors at Bay A.
A major resurfacing project in the Aspley area is also expected to affect a number of services over the coming weeks. Nottingham City Council is carrying out works between Monday 20 April and Tuesday 30 June, including on Coleby Road and Denton Green. In the early stages, no road closures are scheduled, but preparation works, temporary traffic lights and lane closures may cause delays to Orange 35 and Turquoise 77, 77C, 78, 79, 79A and 79B. Diversions are expected to begin in early May.
Footpath improvement works are also taking place on Nuthall Road between Western Boulevard and Melbourne Road until Friday 31 July. The works are taking place on weekdays during the daytime and may lead to lane closures and temporary stop closures affecting Turquoise 78, 79, 79A and 79B.
The Nearsby Drive stop, used by Green 5 and 5A, remains closed in both directions because of roadworks.
Westleigh Road is closed in both directions until Friday 15 May to allow Severn Trent works to take place. Turquoise 78 towards Strelley is running as normal to Denton Green before diverting via Bradfield Road, Strelley Road and Moor Road to the Flamsteed Road terminus. Towards the city, buses are departing Flamsteed Road, turning right onto Helston Drive, left onto Strelley Road, left onto Bradfield Road and right at Denton Green to return to the normal route along Coleby Road. Turquoise 77C is using a similar diversion via Bradfield Road, Strelley Road, Helston Drive and Flamsteed Road, depending on direction. Stops on the diversion routes are being observed.
At City Hospital, Linden Way remains closed to all traffic until Sunday 31 May. Blue 40 to Edwards Lane Estate is running along South Road and leaving the hospital campus through Gate 5 before turning left onto Edwards Lane. Blue 40X to City Hospital is continuing further along Edwards Lane and entering through Gate 4, resuming from the Radiotherapy stop on North Road. Blue 40 towards the city is also entering the campus through Gate 4 and resuming from Radiotherapy, while Blue 40X towards the city is starting from the Radiotherapy stop.
Further disruption is expected from Tuesday 5 May, when Denton Green will be closed to all traffic between 8am and 5pm as part of resurfacing works in Aspley and Broxtowe. Orange 35 towards Bulwell will serve Strelley ASDA as normal, then continue along Strelley Road and turn left onto Broxtowe Lane to rejoin the normal route from Coleby Road. Towards Strelley and the city, buses will run as normal along Broxtowe Lane to Coleby Road, then continue on Broxtowe Lane and turn right onto Strelley Road to resume from Strelley ASDA. Turquoise 78 to Strelley will run as normal to the top of Sherborne Road before diverting via Broxtowe Lane, Strelley Road, Moor Road and Flamsteed Road. Towards the city, buses will leave Flamsteed Road, then use Helston Drive, Strelley Road and Broxtowe Lane before turning right into Sherborne Road.
Lime 56 will divert in Arnold from 8am on Tuesday 5 May until 3.30pm on Friday 15 May because of carriageway repairs on Ravenswood Road. Buses towards Arnold Front Street will run as normal along Coppice Road, then continue onto Cross Street before turning left onto High Street, left onto Croft Road and left onto Front Street. Buses towards the city will leave Front Street, turn right onto Coppice Road and resume the normal route at Ravenswood Road. The High Street ASDA and Croft Road stops will not be served, and passengers are advised to use Arnold Front Street. Stops on Ravenswood Road will also not be served.
Overnight closures of the A52 Derby Road will also affect Orange 35, 35B and 36 from Tuesday 5 May to Saturday 10 May. The road will be closed in both directions between the Priory and QMC roundabouts from 8pm to 6am each night. Buses towards Bulwell or Chilwell will serve QMC as normal, then divert via Clifton Boulevard, Beeston Road and University Boulevard. Orange 36 will then turn left into Broadgate, while Orange 35 will continue to Woodside Road. Towards the city, Orange 35 will run as normal to Priory Island before continuing via Woodside Road, University Boulevard, Beeston Road and Clifton Boulevard, returning to the normal route from QMC Main Entrance. Orange 36 towards the city will run as normal to Broadgate, then use University Boulevard, Beeston Road, Clifton Boulevard and Derby Road to resume from QMC Main Entrance. Passengers on Woodside Road wanting to travel towards the city are advised to cross over and catch the diverted 35, or use Broadgate.
Re-Opening of Derby Road
Derby Road between QMC and Priory roundabouts re-opened on Saturday 2nd May, with Orange 35, 36 back to normal route. These services no longer serve University Boulevard. Orange 34C has returned to normal route within University Park Campus. Some overnight closures will continue.
