Appeal after man seriously assaulted in Ollerton

Police investigating an assault in Ollerton have asked for witnesses to come forward.

The 61-year-old victim was leaving a family event when a man approached him in the street.

The victim reportedly suffered multiple punches to the face, which left him requiring hospital treatment.

The incident happened in Larch Road, Ollerton, on 27 February at around 3pm.

A 32-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of grievous bodily harm with intent that same day. He’s since been released on bail with strict conditions.

Officers investigating the incident are now appealing for anyone who was in the surrounding area and saw what happened, and who may have dash-cam or CCTV footage, to get in touch.

PC Jon Skilling, of Nottinghamshire Police, said:

“This kind of violence has no place in Nottinghamshire, and I am pleased we have been able to arrest a suspect.

“We believe, though, that this location would have been busy at the time of this incident and would urge any members of the public who may have information to get in touch.

“Even the smallest piece of information could prove vital.

“Those who may have dash-cam or CCTV footage taken in the area can call 101 quoting incident number 377 of 27 February 2026 or contact Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.”
