Dispersal order in St Ann’s after 100 gather at street party

Police issued a dispersal order following reports of a large gathering in St Ann’s yesterday evening.

Police said that officers were called to a street party in Ellis Court around 6.15pm yesterday evening (8 April) with over 100 young people present.

They observed loud music and anti-social behaviour, with no further concerns identified.

A dispersal order was issued which means that none of those identified can return to the area for 48 hours or will face arrest.

Neighbourhood Inspector Stephen Dalby, of the Gedling neighbourhood policing team, said:

“We understand that people want to socialise together and enjoy themselves, especially when the weather is nice.

“However, we ask that those involved in large gatherings have respect and keep in mind the concern it may cause within the local community.

“This includes especially loud music which can impact those who may be more vulnerable in the area.

“Our officers were quick to respond to these reports and rightfully issued a dispersal order to ensure nothing escalated.

“No arrests were made, or Fixed Penalty Notices were issued.”
