A large block of amphetamine was found in a garden when police raided a house in Aspley.
The City West neighbourhood policing team discovered the drugs while executing a warrant in Tenbury Crescent.
Having heard the property had links to drug supply, officers paid it a visit just before 9 am on Wednesday (22 April).
Police then forced entry through the front door and rushed inside, where they discovered and detained two people.
Suspecting something may have been discarded over a neighbouring fence, neighbourhood officers went next door to investigate.
A quick search of the garden then resulted in the team finding and retrieving a large block of what they believed to be amphetamine.
Having seized that, the City West team conducted further searches of the house they had visited and duly discovered more drugs inside.
Quantities of Class A drugs were found within the property, along with multiple bags containing cannabis.
Several sleeves of counterfeit cigarettes and mislabelled medicinal products were also discovered and seized by police.
A 51-year-old man and a 50-year-old woman were subsequently arrested on suspicion of possessing, with intent to supply, Class A and Class B drugs.
They were also both arrested on suspicion of possessing goods bearing false trademarks and possessing, for supply, an adulterated medicinal product.
PC Emma Bailey, of Nottinghamshire Police, said:
“This type of result is exactly why we carry out the intelligence-led warrants we do as a neighbourhood policing team.
“Having heard this property could be involved in criminality, our City West officers forced entry and proceeded to find a range of different Class A and Class B drugs.
“This included a massive block of amphetamine, which we found outside in a neighbouring garden, having – we believe – been chucked over the fence as we arrived.
“Thanks to the swift actions of the officers involved that morning, we were able to seize drugs and counterfeit products and make two arrests, which was extremely satisfying.”
