After a two-year pause, Musters Road Open Gardens is back, and people up and down the road are pulling out all the stops to make sure there’s something for every visitor to enjoy.
There will be gardens of all shapes and sizes, each with its own distinctive style, and while you’re strolling from one to the other, you’ll be tempted by a whole array of refreshments, including home-made cakes and tea, hot dogs, or even a glass of Pimm’s to help the afternoon go with a swing.
Music has always been a feature of Musters Road Open Gardens, and this year will be no exception.
West Bridgford Social Singers will be serenading you with a selection of the songs you know and love, and a little further up the road, a kora duo will be playing West African-inspired music.
Younger visitors have certainly not been forgotten. There will be games to play and a children’s trail, giving them something to track down in every garden.
The cost will be just £5 per adult, while under-16s go free.
Poppy Mosesson, the event organiser, says it’s going to be a lot of fun. ‘We are really looking forward to this year’s Open Gardens. It’s a lovely way to bring the community together, to visit gardens, entertain the kids and enjoy a slice of cake or a glass of fizz – all the while raising money for a good cause.’
The money raised will go to The Friary, helping the homeless and vulnerable in our own neighbourhood.
A date for the diary: Sunday 21 June, from 1.00 pm to 6.00 pm
