Nottinghamshire heatwave: temperatures forecast to reach 34°C this week

Nottinghamshire is set for a spell of increasingly hot and sunny weather this week, with temperatures forecast to peak at 34°C.

After highs of around 25°C on Monday 10 August, conditions are expected to become considerably warmer from Tuesday.

Tuesday is forecast to remain sunny, with temperatures reaching 28°C and falling to around 12°C overnight.

The heat will intensify on Wednesday, when a maximum temperature of 32°C is predicted. Overnight temperatures will also begin to rise, remaining at around 15°C.

Thursday is expected to be the hottest day of the week, with unbroken sunshine and temperatures potentially reaching 34°C. The minimum temperature is forecast to be 18°C, making for a warm night across the county.

Temperatures should begin to ease on Friday, although it will remain very warm at around 28°C. Sunny spells and some cloud are currently forecast.

A cooler and cloudier weekend is then expected. Saturday should reach around 23°C, followed by a maximum of 24°C on Sunday.

  • Friday 14 August: Sunny intervals, 28°C
  • Saturday 15 August: Sunny intervals, 23°C
  • Sunday 16 August: Cloudy, 24°C

UV levels are expected to be high during the sunny weather. People are advised to drink plenty of water, use sunscreen and avoid spending long periods in direct sunlight during the hottest part of the day.
