Rail

East Midlands Railway continues to operate its temporary reduced Intercity timetable, introduced because of fleet availability and reliability issues. The reductions affect services on the Midland Main Line, including journeys between Nottingham and London St Pancras.

Passengers should also plan ahead for this weekend. Further engineering work is scheduled to affect services on the Nottingham–Sheffield corridor on Saturday 22 and Sunday 23 August.

Buses – several works affect services today

There are several significant Nottingham City Transport service changes.

Shakespeare Street remains partially closed today, the final scheduled day of works. No diversions are planned, but NCT warns of significant delays to services 28, 30, 35, 36, 77, 78 and 79.

Nuthall Road resurfacing continues between 07:30 and 16:00, affecting Turquoise 78 and 79 towards Strelley and Bulwell. City-bound buses are operating normally. The weekday works continue until 1 September.

In Bingham, Long Acre is closed between 07:30 and 18:00 today, meaning Pathfinder 90 cannot serve Bingham Market Place. Passengers should use the White Lion stops instead. The works continue through Friday 21 August.

Edwards Lane is also closed for resurfacing between 08:00 and 17:00, affecting the 40A, 87, 88, 89 and 89A. These weekday closures continue until 28 August.

Other significant roadworks

Overnight resurfacing continues on Gedling Road until Friday 21 August, with Lime 59 diverting between 20:00 and 06:00.

Works at Lowdham Roundabout are continuing as part of the A614/A6097 improvement programme. NCT warns that the scheme is likely to cause delays to Pathfinder 26 and will require some road closures during the approximately 13-month construction period.

A major change follows on Monday 24 August, when works begin at the A6097/Kirk Hill junction at East Bridgford. The junction programme is expected to last around 12 months.
