Djanogly City Academy GCSE results announced

Djanogly City Academy students are once again celebrating some strong GCSE exam results and looking forward to their next steps. 

 

This summer’s GCSE results include continued strong performances in English and maths, with particularly positive outcomes in English Language. 

 

Many subject areas have also built on solid prior results with notable performances in computer science, physical education and languages. 

 

Andy Smith, Principal, Djanogly City Academy, said: “We are absolutely delighted for our students. They have all worked so hard for their results.

 

“Our staff are fully committed to raising aspirations and do extraordinary things to ensure that students achieve at the highest of levels. I could not be prouder of our students and their teachers.”

 

He added: “It is also good to see many of our students wanting to stay on at Djanogly City Academy Sixth Form, which is an Ofsted ‘outstanding’ provider.”

 

Djanogly City Academy, which is Ofsted graded ‘good’ and has two sites based at Gregory Boulevard and Sherwood Rise, Nottingham, is part of Tapestry Learning Partnership. 

 

Laiba Iftikhar, 16, who achieved ten GCSEs including two grade 9s, four grade 8s and four grade 7s, said: “I feel really proud of what I have achieved and am so happy.” Laiba is going onto sixth form to study four A Levels in maths, further maths, physics and history.

 

Shaf Hussain, 16, who achieved nine GCSEs from grades 5 to 9, said: “I feel very proud of myself and what I have achieved.” Shaf is going to study three A Levels in biology, chemistry and history at Djanogly City Academy Sixth Form.

 

Shiloe Caleb Anderson, 16, who achieved nine GCSEs including three grade 8s, five grade 7s and one grade 6, said: “I didn’t expect the results, I feel great.” Shiloe is going onto college to study music technology, biology and psychology.

 

Mayar Abdullah, 16, who achieved ten GCSEs from grades 5 to 9, said: “I am really happy, I can’t believe my results.” Mayar is staying on at Djanogly City Academy Sixth Form to study four A levels in chemistry, biology, sociology, psychology.

A significant number of students are progressing to Djanogly City Academy Sixth Form, Sherwood Rise, which is Ofsted ‘outstanding’ and offers 27 A Level subjects.
