The bank holiday weekend looks mixed and unsettled, with showers or longer spells of rain at times.
Saturday brings showers and blustery conditions, Sunday looks the wettest day, while Monday starts damp but should brighten before further rain develops later.
Saturday 29 August
Saturday is expected to be cloudy with showers, especially from late morning into the early afternoon.
By late morning and around midday, the chance of rain is around 60%, rising to 70% by 1pm. Temperatures will be around 18C to 19C, feeling closer to 17C or 18C.
The afternoon stays unsettled at first, with a 60% chance of rain at 2pm, easing to 40% by 3pm and 20% from 4pm onwards. Temperatures peak at around 20C.
Winds will be from the west at around 8mph to 10mph, with gusts strengthening to around 30mph to 32mph during the afternoon. Visibility should generally be very good, though easing to excellent later. Humidity falls from the low 70s to around 60% by late afternoon.
The evening looks drier, with only a 10% to 20% chance of rain. Temperatures fall from around 19C at 5pm and 6pm to 17C by 8pm.
Sunday 30 August
Sunday looks the most unsettled day of the bank holiday weekend, with cloud, showers and longer spells of rain.
Overnight and early morning will be cloudy and damp, with a 40% to 50% chance of rain in the early hours. Temperatures remain steady at around 16C.
By 6am the chance of rain drops to 20%, then to 10% at 7am and 8am, before falling below 5% by 9am. Temperatures stay around 16C to 17C.
Rain risk increases again through the late morning and midday. The chance of rain is 40% at 9am, 70% by 10am, and at least 95% from 11am through to 2pm.
Temperatures remain fairly flat, between 17C and 19C, feeling similar. Winds will be light to moderate from the south or south-west at around 5mph to 6mph, with gusts around 17mph to 18mph.
The afternoon and evening remain wet. The chance of rain is at least 95% at 2pm, then 90% from 3pm to 5pm. It eases to 80% at 6pm, 60% at 7pm, then 40% at 8pm, 9pm and 10pm, before rising slightly to 50% by 11pm.
Temperatures stay around 17C to 18C through the afternoon and evening, dipping to around 16C later. Visibility is expected to be moderate for much of the day, and humidity remains very high, generally above 90% into the evening.
Monday 31 August
Bank Holiday Monday starts cloudy and damp in places, but should turn brighter for a time before more rain arrives later in the day.
Overnight there is a 40% to 60% chance of rain, with temperatures around 15C. By 5am it will be around 14C, with a 30% chance of rain.
The morning is brighter but still with some shower risk. From 6am to 10am the chance of rain ranges from 20% to 30%. Temperatures rise from 14C at 6am and 7am to 17C by 10am.
Through late morning and lunchtime it turns milder and brighter. The chance of rain is below 5% at 9am, then around 10% to 20% from 10am to midday. Temperatures climb from 18C at 10am to 21C by midday.
The afternoon becomes more unsettled again. The chance of rain is 40% at 1pm, 50% at 2pm, 60% at 3pm and 70% at 4pm, rising to 90% by 5pm and 6pm.
Temperatures peak at around 22C during the afternoon before easing to around 21C by 5pm and 20C by 6pm. Winds will be mainly south-westerly at around 5mph to 8mph, with gusts reaching 23mph to 25mph later. Visibility should generally be very good.
