Nottingham’s choral landscape gains an exciting new ensemble this autumn with the launch of South Notts Nova Cantores, a modern boys’ choir for ages 10–18.

Founded by experienced music educator and conductor Victoria, the choir offers a fresh, ambitious pathway for young singers across the region.
South Notts Nova Cantores combines high‑level vocal training, musicianship development, and creative opportunities including songwriting and theory, building confident, capable performers ready for advanced ensemble work. The choir is designed as a companion ensemble to the established South Notts Men’s Chorus, creating a unified choral identity for boys and men in the region.
“Nova Cantores is about excellence, aspiration, and giving boys a space to grow as musicians,” said Victoria, Director of Music. “We’re building an ensemble that is modern, disciplined, and competition‑ready — a choir that represents Nottingham with pride.”
The choir welcomes boys aged 10–18 from all musical backgrounds, including those with changing voices. Rehearsals take place weekly in Nottingham, with a focus on vocal technique, ensemble skills, and performance preparation. The ensemble will work towards public performances, collaborations, and regional competitions.
