Boy, 13, arrested after suspected Class A drugs found in Nottingham

A 13-year-old boy has been arrested on suspicion of drug offences after police recovered suspected Class A drugs from undergrowth in St Ann’s, Nottingham.

Neighbourhood officers on bicycle patrol spotted what they believed to be a drug deal taking place in Lewis Close at around 10.45am on Thursday 8 October.

A teenager ran from the scene when officers approached and was pursued towards Robin Hood Chase.

Officers subsequently located the boy hiding in a bush in Thomas Close, following assistance from members of the public.

He was detained and officers found cannabis in his pockets.

A search of the area near the bush also uncovered wraps of suspected cocaine and heroin packaged in cling film.

The boy was arrested on suspicion of possession with intent to supply Class A drugs and possession of a Class B drug.

Annaleise Howell, of Nottinghamshire Police’s City South neighbourhood policing team, said tackling drug dealing remained a priority for officers in St Ann’s.
