Prince Harry and Meghan, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, are to visit three Nottingham charities during a day of engagements focused on youth development, community support and tackling poverty.
The couple will travel to St Ann’s, Hyson Green and Sneinton, meeting young people, charity workers and volunteers involved in programmes they have supported over several years.
Their itinerary includes a return to the Community Recording Studio (CRS), a visit to food poverty charity Himmah and an afternoon meeting with children and families supported by Epic Partners.
The first engagement will take place at CRS in Lowdham Street, St Ann’s, between 10.25am and 11.55am.
Founded in 1991 by Trevor Rose and Nick Street, the charity originally provided recording facilities and opportunities for young people interested in music. It has since expanded its activities to include sport, mentoring, creative projects and wider youth development programmes.
Prince Harry first visited the studio privately in 2013 and returned in September 2025 to announce a £1.1 million donation to BBC Children in Need, which is supporting the redevelopment of CRS.
During the latest visit, he is expected to meet musician, poet and youth mentor Jah Digga, who attended the studio as a child and has maintained links with its work.
Meghan will take part in a bracelet-making session with a group of girls, with discussions centred on confidence and self-belief.
The couple will also watch an acting workshop involving young people at the studio.
Their next engagement will be with Himmah, a Nottingham charity providing food and practical assistance to people experiencing hardship.
The organisation works to address poverty, food insecurity, racism and social exclusion through its community kitchen, foodbank and other support services.
Himmah’s kitchen provided more than 15,000 meals during 2024-25, while its foodbank supported 1,188 families over the same period.
The couple will begin their visit at Himmah Hub in Hyson Green, where they will participate in cooking activities and share a meal, before travelling to the charity’s separate foodbank premises.
The visit follows previous financial support from both Harry and Meghan.
In 2021, Meghan donated £10,000 from the proceeds of her 2018 publication, Together: Our Community Cookbook, to Himmah. Harry subsequently matched the contribution with a further £10,000.
In a letter accompanying his donation, Prince Harry described Nottingham as holding a special place in his heart because of his longstanding involvement with local community organisations.
He also praised Himmah’s efforts to support people facing financial difficulties and bring communities together.
The charity’s work has continued to develop, with its Hub providing meals and a community space for residents experiencing financial hardship.
The Duke and Duchess are scheduled to visit Himmah between 12.20pm and 2.05pm.
Their final engagement will take place at Epic Partners on Edale Road in Sneinton, where they are due to arrive at 2.25pm.
The charity works with children, young people and families in St Ann’s and Sneinton through education, sport, mentoring and youth activities.
Its programmes include early intervention and more targeted assistance for young people who have experienced trauma.
Prince Harry’s involvement with Epic dates back to his visit to St Ann’s in 2013, which helped establish the Full Effect partnership between Epic and CRS.
Supported by The Royal Foundation between 2013 and 2020, the initiative combined support in local schools with community activities, using music and other creative opportunities to engage young people.
Meghan also has an established connection with the organisation, having met young people involved in Full Effect and visited Epic’s girls’ nurture group in 2017.
One of the young people she mentored, Leonora Ncomanzi, was subsequently invited to the couple’s wedding celebrations.
Support for Epic and related youth programmes has continued through funding associated with BBC Children in Need.
In 2025, Prince Harry also donated £50,000 to Coach Core, an organisation helping young people access coaching apprenticeships and employment opportunities. Epic was among its original partners.
The couple’s visit to Epic Partners is scheduled to conclude at 3.15pm, bringing their three Nottingham charity engagements to an end.
