A person has been hit by a train affecting Nottingham – London services

East Midlands Railway announced the incident this evening.

East Midlands Railway said at 7:20 pm on Saturday 24 May

‘A person has been hit by a train between Derby/Chesterfield/Matlock.

‘The emergency services are managing the incident.

‘Trains on our London St Pancras/ Sheffield and Nottingham/Derby/Matlock route are disrupted.’

Trains running through the area in both direction cannot run between Derby and Chesterfield / Matlock.

London St Pancras – Sheffield Route

‘Where possible, we will divert our trains via an alternative route. If trains are able to divert, you can expect an your journey to be extended by an additional 30 minutes.
Nottingham – Derby – Matlock route

‘We are unable to run trains between Derby and Matlock.

‘If you are travelling this evening, please check your journey before you travel, you can use an online journey planner here: https://www.nationalrail.co.uk/

‘At present we are expecting the line to re-open in the next 2 hours. As soon as the line is open again, our priority will be to get trains running to their advertised times again. We expect our advertised timetable to resume on the affected routes by 21:30.’
