The A1 in Nottinghamshire is closed southbound between the B6325 (North Muskham) and the A46 (Newark-on-Trent) due to emergency carriageway repairs.
Emergency carriageway repairs are taking place due to a safety-critical carriageway defect.
The carriageway is expected to remain closed through the night to facilitate these essential repairs.
Diversion Route
Road users are advised to follow the solid black circle diversion symbol on local road signs:
- Exit the A1 at the B6325 North Muskham Interchange and continue south along the B6325 to the South Muskham mini roundabout.
- Continue straight over the roundabout onto the A616 and travel south until the A46/A616/A617 Cattle Market Roundabout.
- Turn left (north/east), onto the A46 Newark Bypass until the A1/A46 Brownhills Roundabout, then go straight over and continue on the A46 until the A46/A17/A1 Roundabout.
- Turn right (south) at the roundabout and take the southbound entry slip road to rejoin the A1.
