Part of the A1 in Nottinghamshire has been closed by police in both directions between the A1M J34 (Blyth) and the A57 at Worksop.
The road is now fully open
National Highways has a diversion in place for drivers coming from both directions approaching the area.
Diversion Routes
Southbound diverted traffic is advised to follow the hollow triangle diversion symbol:
- Exit the A1(M) at the A1(M)/A614 Blyth Junction and take the A614 (north/east) for approximately 3.1 miles to the A614/A638 Hawkesnest Junction.
- Then take the A638 south for approximately 8 miles through the villages of Scrooby, Ranskill and Barnby Moor to Retford.
- At the A638/A620 roundabout, turn right (west) and take the A620 Hospital Road out of Retford.
- Continue west along the A620 for approximately 3.7 miles until the A1/A620 Ranby Junction, to rejoin the A1 south
Northbound diverted traffic is advised to follow the solid circle diversion symbol:
- Exit the A1 at Apleyhead Interchange and take the A57 west to Worksop.
- At A57/B6040 Manton Roundabout, turn left (west) onto the Worksop Bypass and continue over the roundabout at A57/ B6034 Ollerton Road.
- Continue north-west on the Bypass and travel straight over at A57/A60/ B6024 Mansfield Road/Newcastle Avenue roundabout, A57/A60 Sandy Lane Roundabout and Shireoaks Roundabout.
- At the A57/B6041 Gateford Roundabout, turn left (north-west) and continue along the A57 through the signalised junctions at South Anston and Todwick for approximately 6.8 miles to A57/M1 J31 Interchange, and take the M1 N/B.
- At Junction 32 of the M1, take the M18 north-east for approximately 6.2 miles to M18 J2/A1(M) J35.
- Rejoin A1(M) northbound.
