The A46 in Leicestershire is closed southbound between the A606 and the A6006 following a serious collision.
All emergency services are working at the scene with Leicestershire Police leading the response.
Diversion Routes:
Southbound diversion route is not symbol led:
Exit the A46 southbound at the A606 junction.
At the roundabout , take the first exit along the A606.
Continue on the A606 for approx. 6 miles until the crossroads with Six Hills Lane.
Turn right and follow for approx. 4 miles
At the next junction , continue over the crossroads heading along the B676 for 1.5 miles, until it re-joins the A46 at Six Hills junction
8:15 pm Remains closed
Road closed and slow traffic due to crash investigation work on A46 both ways between Hades Lane and the Upper Broughton turn off.
The road is closed due to an accident first reported at around 15:30.

Diversion Routes:
Southbound diversion route is not symbol led:
- Exit the A46 southbound at the A606 junction.
- At the roundabout , take the first exit along the A606.
- Continue on the A606 for approx. 6 miles until the crossroads with Six Hills Lane.
- Turn right and follow for approx. 4 miles
- At the next junction , continue over the crossroads heading along the B676 for 1.5 miles, until it re-joins the A46 at Six Hills junction
Northbound diversion route is not symbol led:
- From the A46 Dalby junction , take the exit slip road and at the junction with Hades Lane, turn left.
- At the following junction with the A6006, turn right heading west and follow the A6006 for 5 miles to the crossroads with Rempstone village.
- Turn right onto the A60 and head north for 7 miles.
- At the roundabout with the a52, head east signed Grantham , for 9 miles to rejoin the A46 at Saxondale Roundabout.
