National highways are replacing lighting columns.
The A52 Clifton Bridge will be closed both ways between Clifton Lane and Queens Drive from 8pm tomorrow to 6am Friday and 10pm on Friday to 6am on Saturday for essential maintenance.
National Highways said:
‘We’re carrying out essential maintenance work on the A52 Clifton Bridge. As part of this work, we’ll be installing a new lighting column and carrying out essential lighting improvements.
‘Once completed, road users will benefit from a safer road, and safety remains our number one priority; that is why our ambition remains that no one should be harmed while travelling or working on our roads.
Closure
‘We’ll be carrying out work overnight, between 8pm and 6am on 15 May, and from 10pm to 6am on 16 May.
‘In order to carry out this work safely:
‘We’ll close the A52 at Clifton Bridge between Clifton Lane and Queens Drive.
Diversion
‘During the closures, a fully signed diversion will be in place.
‘Access for emergency service vehicles will be maintained throughout.’
