A52 Gamston roadworks delayed by weather – new completion date announced

The works were due to have been completed by March but were delayed because of the freezing weather.

National Highways said:

‘We’re working hard to complete the final phase of our junction improvement works at Gamston roundabout. This will mark the completion of the second phase of the A52 Nottingham junctions improvement scheme.

‘Due to the adverse weather conditions in the East Midlands earlier in March, our overnight crews were unable to install the new road surface materials for several nights and this has affected our planned schedule. This means we now expect to complete work at Gamston roundabout by Monday 17 April 2023. Please note, the date may be subject to change due to weather conditions or unforeseen circumstances.

‘Where possible, we’ll keep you updated of significant changes. Thank you for your ongoing patience during this construction work.

‘We’ll continue to close the road at 8pm on Monday to Friday and open again the next morning by 6am at the latest. The road will remain open every Saturday and Sunday night. Our division route remains as follows:

‘As with the previous overnight closures at Gamston roundabout, the road will be closed at the points shown in the image below.’

In all cases, the diversion route for eastbound traffic is the reverse of the above.
