The Winner of Ruth Edwards MP’s Best Pub in Rushcliffe Competition is Tollerton’s Air Hostess.
The community owned pub gained the most votes in the contest, followed closely by Ruddington’s The Frame Breakers and The Plough Inn in Wysall.
Constituents were asked to vote online for the pub that was closest to their hearts and Ruth personally congratulated each of the runners up and contestants and present them with a certificate. Like its sister competition (Best Local Shop), the Best Local Pub vote was to celebrate small business Saturday.
Mark Hughes, who runs The Air Hostess with Rachel and their dog Henry said:
“We’re absolutely over the moon to have won this award. The recognition shown by everyone who voted is a fantastic boost to both myself, Rachael and the whole team, who have worked extremely hard during what has been a difficult time for the hospitality industry.
“We are also hugely grateful for the support of all the Tollerton Flying Club, The Shareholders and the wider community who continue to support us in all we do.”
Ruth Edwards MP made the following comments about the competition:
“Pubs truly sit at the heart of our local communities, particularly over the festive season. It is heart warming to see the outpouring of support for so many of them across Rushcliffe, particularly after what has been as especially difficult time for the hospitality industry as a whole over the past few years.
I would like to extend my thanks to all who voted for their favourite pub. I know how much they mean to the teams in our locals.”
