The M69 in Leicestershire was closed this morning (Monday 10 March) after the death of a man.
Police said:
‘Reports were received just after 7am of a man standing on the bridge close to junction 2.
‘Both carriageways of the M69 were closed while emergency services dealt with the incident, but they have since been reopened.
‘From initial enquiries it’s believed the man may have been standing on the bridge up to 30 minutes before the incident and drove to the area in a grey Vauxhall Insignia.
‘If you saw the man prior to the incident, we would like to speak to you. Also, we would urge anyone who stopped at the scene and assisted before the emergency services arrived to get in touch.
‘Anyone with any information is asked to contact DC 212 Suki Sahota on 101, or via www.leics.police.uk, quoting incident 91 of 10 March.’
