Officers were called to a serious road traffic collision on the A38 in Sutton-in-Ashfield.
The incident happened near Kingfisher Way at around 8.30pm on Tuesday evening.
The road has since reopened.
Police reported at the time:
‘Officers will remain at the scene for some time and the road is closed in both directions.
Motorists are being asked to avoid the area while a thorough investigation takes place.
