Police investigating an incident in which a woman was racially abused in the street are appealing for witnesses to come forward.
The victim was approached as she walked along Oak Tree Lane in Mansfield at around 10.35am on Wednesday, 19 November.
It is believed the same suspect may also have caused damage to a passing car around the same time.
Officers have exhausted local CCTV opportunities and are now asking for other potential witnesses to come forward – particularly anyone who may have dashcam footage showing the suspect.
He is described as white, around six feet tall, and of slim build. He was said to be wearing a grey top, black trousers, and a beanie-style hat.
PC Alex Smith said:
“This was a distressing incident for the woman involved, who was confronted by a much larger man who then blocked her path.
“We are determined to catch up with this man, who we also believe was acting erratically in the wider area that morning and would have attracted public attention.
“If you noticed this person, please come forward without delay and help us track him down.”
Anyone with relevant information is asked to call 101, quoting incident 195 of 19 November 2025.
