A man has been arrested after a haul of Apple products was stolen from a windowsill.

The burglary happened in Broadgate in Beeston on 1 June. It was reported that an iPad Pro, Macbook Pro, iPhone 7 and a wallet were stolen from a windowsill through an unlocked window.

Another break-in was reported in Marlborough Road in Beeston on 19 June. Access was gained through an unlocked window at the back of the house and a laptop, mobile phone, SLR camera and a purse were stolen.

A 38-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of burglary following the incidents.

Detective Sergeant Andy Hall, of Nottinghamshire Police, said: “We know that burglars often lurk outside windows where they can see laptops or other technology, waiting for an opportunity to strike.

“Burglary is an invasive crime and we all deserve to enjoy our homes without the threat of someone stealing our belongings. The only people to blame for this are the criminals who commit burglary.

“However, there are things we can all do to protect ourselves. I would encourage everyone to be mindful of keeping valuables away from unlocked windows, especially when you are not in the room, and always locking windows and doors at night or when you go out.

“We do everything we can to catch those who commit burglary and put them before the courts, and by working together we can reduce the impact of this type of crime.”
