Police are appealing for witnesses following an altercation on a Nottingham street this morning.
A man was left with a head injury not currently believed to be life-altering following a suspected assault.
The incident reportedly took place around the vicinity of Newstead Grove, Arboretum, around 2.40 am today (7 August).
A cordon remains in place while our officers investigate what happened further, while the victim is currently being treated in hospital.
Police are now appealing to anyone who may have seen something happen to get in touch.
Detective Sergeant Simon Carter said: “A man was left with a nasty head injury that thankfully wasn’t more serious following an altercation.
“We are still in the early stages of our investigation but are currently working to the theory that he sustained this injury after being assaulted.
“While this took place in the early hours of the morning, there may have been a passerby who witnessed something happen but hasn’t reported it yet.
“Likewise, someone could’ve inadvertently recorded the incident on their dash-cam or doorbell camera or may just have some information that could assist our investigation.
“As I’ve said, we’re still in the process of piecing together what happened here, so if you have any information that could help us, please don’t hesitate to share it.”
