A drug dealing suspect was found with cocaine in his underpants after being stopped by police.
Armed Policing team officers were out on patrol in Bestwood when they noticed a car travelling southbound along Hucknall Road.
Believing it could be linked to criminality, the firearms officers followed the vehicle along Valley Road and pulled it over in Edwards Lane.
Approaching the car at around 7pm on Sunday ( 23 August ) the policing team noticed a large amount of cash as well as cannabis inside the vehicle.
Despite those discoveries, officers say they thought the man in the driver’s seat could have more drugs hidden under his clothing, so brought him into custody so that he could be searched properly.
Those searches subsequently resulted in wraps containing quantities of cocaine being found inside the suspect’s underpants.
Having seized the drugs, officers arrested the 25-year-old man on suspicion of possessing with intent to supply Class A and Class B drugs.
Sergeant Lee Frith, of Nottinghamshire Police, said:
“Our firearms officers deserve great credit for following their policing instincts and electing to pull this car over.
“Having initially noticed the vehicle while out on patrol, the officers immediately started to suspect something wasn’t right when they approached it, so decided to investigate further.
“That decision ultimately resulted in quantities of Class A and Class B drugs being discovered, some of which was hidden in a man’s underpants, and a suspect being arrested for drug dealing offences.”
