A proactive policing operation involving armed response officers has led to a 21-year-old man being charged with drug offences.
The man from Sneinton, was arrested on suspicion of possession with intent to supply class A drugs after he was stopped in a car at around 3.25pm yesterday.
Tactical response and intelligence teams were also involved in the incident in the Bendigo Lane area of Sneinton.
A number of bags of white powder suspected to be cocaine were also recovered during a search of the stopped vehicle.
He is due to appear at Nottingham Magistrates’ Court tomorrow.
Detective Inspector Jon Kerry, of Nottinghamshire’s criminal investigation department, said: “Multiple teams worked collaboratively to pursue an arrest in connection with a very serious offence.
“Drug offences are treated with the utmost severity and we are working proactively to take them off the streets before they can be used to cause harm.”
