Arrest after 22-year-old killed in Rushcliffe collision

A man has been arrested by police investigating a fatal collision.

Emergency services were called to the southbound A46, near Car Colston, at around 9.15pm on Saturday after a collision involving four vehicles.

A 22-year-old man was pronounced dead at the scene.

Investigations into what happened are ongoing and a 38-year-old man has now been arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving.

He has also been held on suspicion of failing to stop after a collision and remains in police custody.

Sergeant Mark Baker from Nottinghamshire Polices Serious Collision Investigation Unit, said: “This was a tragic incident in which a young man lost his life and we are working hard to understand what happened.

“Our thoughts at this time remain with the man’s family, who are being supported by specialist officers.”
