Arrest after alleged ‘road rage’ incident on Clifton Lane ends with man being struck by a car

A man has been arrested following an incident where a motorist was hit by a car.

The incident happened shortly after 2pm Sunday afternoon in Clifton Lane, Nottingham, after an altercation between the drivers of a van and car.

After stepping out of his vehicle the van driver was struck by the car, which was then driven away from the scene.

The victim, a man in his thirties, suffered cuts, bruises and a suspected broken arm in the incident.

A 30-year-old man was arrested this morning (Thursday) on suspicion of causing grievous bodily harm. He remains in police custody.

PC Lee Wilson, of Nottinghamshire Police, said: “This was a shocking incident that was witnessed by several other road users. The victim suffered significant injuries in this incident but was lucky he wasn’t more seriously hurt. I am pleased that we now have a suspect in custody and our investigations will continue.”
