Arrest after car driven into front door of Clifton business

A man was arrested after a car smashed into the front door of a business.

Police were called to Southchurch Drive, Clifton, shortly before 9:30 pm yesterday (Monday) when the incident occurred.

Nobody was hurt but the front door of the building was badly damaged.

A 48-year-old man was located nearby and arrested on suspicion of criminal damage, failing to provide a specimen of breath, common assault, and possession of cocaine.

He remains in police custody.

Sergeant James Rimmington, of Nottinghamshire Police, said: “Officers were very quickly on the scene of this incident and a suspect was arrested a short time later. He remains in police custody and our investigation into what happened is continuing.”
