A 26-year-old has been arrested on suspicion of grievous bodily harm.
The arrest follows an aggravated burglary in Burns Street, Mansfield at 7 pm Tuesday (31 March 2020).
The offender visited a house, kicked the door in and entered with a large knife.
The victim suffered injuries to the face and head. He was taken to Kings Mill Hospital in an ambulance.
The offender was located at another address and a knife was located in a kitchen sink.
Detective Sergeant Matt Scott said: “We made a quick arrest following the incident. We continue to patrol the streets in the area and we are appealing for witnesses who may have seen the incident to come forward.
“This appears to be an isolated incident and we aren’t looking for anyone else in connection with the incident.”
Officers remain at the scenes at Howard Street in Mansfield.
The man remains in police custody.
