Arrests after man threatened with a knife and chased in Nottingham

Police made three arrests following a street disturbance in Nottingham.
Officers were called to Birkin Avenue, Radford, around 4.50pm on Sunday (12 July) following reports a man had been threatened with a knife and chased.

The victim, aged in his 40s, had attended an address in his van to try to locate a family member.

Following an argument, a group of people came out of a property and surrounded the vehicle.

One of the offenders brandished a knife which was swung at the victim.

The man was not harmed and was able to flee from the scene in his van and call 999.
Following further inquiries, officers located three suspects in nearby Palin Street.

A man, aged 21, and two boys, aged 16 and 17, were arrested on suspicion of affray.
Detective Sergeant Rob Palethorpe, of Nottinghamshire Police, said:

“Thankfully, the victim was not injured during this incident but it will have been a distressing ordeal for him.

“People living on the street may also be concerned, but I hope they welcome our robust response and these three arrests.

“An investigation by detectives is ongoing, and we’d like to hear from anyone with information, or relevant CCTV, dashcam, doorbell or mobile phone footage of the incident.”
