Arrest after suspected drunk driver crashed into Clifton house

A man has been arrested after a car crashed into a house.

Officers were called to Rivergreen, Clifton, following the collision shortly after 7 am this morning (Thursday, 27 April).

A porch was destroyed and a 37-year-old man was arrested at the scene on suspicion of drink-driving. He remains in custody for questioning.

Inspector Iain Blackstock, of Nottinghamshire Police, said: “The actions of the driver could have had devastating consequences and it is extremely fortunate that no one was hurt.

“Officers were quick to attend the scene and a man was arrested shortly after.

“Anyone who witnessed the incident, or has dash-cam footage, is asked to get in touch with Nottinghamshire Police on 101, quoting incident 104 of 27 April 2023.”
