Detectives investigating a report of a man being repeatedly hit with a baseball bat have arrested two men.
The victim had a sum of cash, Apple AirPods, his phone and a Playstation controller stolen from him before he was then forced to transfer money from his bank account.
It is believed that the incident took place at a flat in Midland Way at around 5pm on Tuesday 8 June 2021 and police have been working hard to establish what happened.
On Tuesday (29 June) two men, both 19, were arrested on suspicion of robbery in connection with the incident.
Both men have been released on bail pending further enquiries.
Detective Sergeant Frank Guddemi, of Nottinghamshire Police, said: “This is a disturbing and violent attack that led to a large number of expensive items and a sum of cash being stolen from the victim.
“Robbery is totally unacceptable and we will always thoroughly investigate reports with the view of taking appropriate action against offenders.
“While we are pleased to have made arrests as part of our investigation, it is still early on in our enquiries and we are working hard to find who did this.
“However, we do believe that the victim and the suspects in this incident are known to one another and that this was an isolated attack.
“I would now appeal for anyone who may have seen or heard something that could help us in our investigation to come forward.”
Anyone who has any information that could aid detectives in their investigation should contact Nottinghamshire Police on 101 quoting incident number 51 of 10 June 2021.
