Police response officers arrested two suspects and recovered two knives after attending reports of a fight in Nottingham.
Officers quickly arrived after being called to the incident in Pelham Street, Nottingham city centre, at around 6.10pm yesterday (Sunday 19 May 2024).
Searches were carried out and police gave chase on foot after spotting a suspect running down Norfolk Place towards Old Market Square.
Within minutes they caught up with him and detained the suspect in South Parade. Two knives were then found nearby following further searches of the area.
Meanwhile colleagues arrested a second suspect believed to have been involved in the altercation after he was spotted on a bicycle.
An 18-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of affray and a 14-year-old boy on suspicion of affray and possession of a knife in a public place.
Inquiries are ongoing into the incident. No injuries were reported.

“I’m pleased that thanks to our speedy response officers were able to arrest two suspects ad seize two knives which demonstrates our commitment to tackling crime and keeping people safe.”
